Coquille Broiler & Pub wants everyone to feel welcome, both at our tables and on our website. We are committed to making this site usable for as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technology.
Our Standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. These are the internationally recognized standards for making web content easier to perceive, operate, and understand. Building to this standard is an ongoing effort, and we keep it in mind as we update the site.
What We Have Done
As we built this site, we worked to include:
- Readable color contrast between text and backgrounds, so the menu and details are easy to read.
- Keyboard navigation, so the site can be used without a mouse, including a "skip to content" link and visible focus outlines.
- Descriptive text for meaningful images, so screen reader users get the same information.
- Clear, consistent structure using proper headings and landmarks to make the page easy to scan and navigate.
- Responsive layout that works on phones, tablets, and desktops, and respects reduced-motion settings for visitors who prefer less animation.
- A labeled, accessible map and plainly written contact details.
Known Limitations
Some parts of this site rely on third-party services we do not fully control, such as the embedded Google Map, the feed of our latest Facebook posts, and the Toast online ordering platform. We have done our best to label and present them clearly, but their accessibility is ultimately managed by those providers.
Some things are best confirmed by a person. Certain accessibility features, such as how the site behaves with a specific screen reader or keyboard setup, cannot be fully verified from the code alone and may vary by device. If something is not working for you, we want to know.
Visiting in Person
Our restaurant is on the corner of Central Boulevard in downtown Coquille. If you have questions about accessibility at the restaurant itself, such as seating or entry, please call ahead and we will be glad to help you plan your visit.
